Bahía Portete is one of La Guajira’s most ecologically important sites and home to large flocks of Caribbean flamingos. Our speedboat service departs from Puerto Bolívar and covers the bay in a 3-hour guided tour that includes mangrove navigation channels, flamingo observation zones, and stops at the historic Wayuu fishing village of Puerto López. Our certified guides carry binoculars for birdwatching and provide detailed ecological commentary. Vessels are 24-foot covered speedboats with seating for up to 8 guests. Private and shared departures available. Minimum age 6 years. Best visibility at low tide between 7:00–9:00 AM.
